Quite possibly my favorite Lauren Merkin design ever, the Essex Clutch was created in collaboration with jewelry designer Michelle Fantaci for the label’s spring 2011 collection. Dressier than Merkin’s other clutches, Essex features distinctive hardware inspired by Fantaci’s own designs. The slinky chain strap is a beautiful complement to the deep burgundy hue here; the latter is what makes it such a great fall and winter evening bag. Find it for $350 at Lauren Merkin.
