Mary-Kate Olsen’s Leonello Borghi Chinchilla Satchel

Let me preface this by saying that I usually adore Mary-Kate and Ashley’s sense of style. Notice I said ’style’ — theirs cannot be misinterpreted to be ‘fashion’. While I certainly could not pull off even a fraction of their uniquely constructed ensembles, I appreciate that they are originals (fancy that for twins!) and not another Zoe Zombie, a la Nicole, Lindsay, etc. Remember those fashion plate toys we had as little girls? The flat ‘dolls’ with magnetic or snap on clothing? The ensembles traveled together so you couldn’t change the look, but you could change the doll. Precisely how I feel about Rachel the Puppetmaster and her collection of ‘clients’. That’s not to say that they don’t look good. But a facsimile of originality is NOT originality. The Olsen twins, on the other hand, have their own aesthetics. While their brand of style may not be mainstream, noone else can lay claim to it. Whereas every other starlet and celebutante rode the crest of fashion, Mary Kate and Ashley defied it. And I love it.
And then Mary Kate stepped out in this getup. The twins never hesitate to don fur, but this flokati trimmed suede jacket paired with a chinchilla satchel is too much of a bad thing. I get the feeling MK thought to herself, ‘How can I piss off PETA even more than I normally do?’ before she got dressed. Somewhere, Rachel Zoe is aghast and somewhere, an overzealous PETA activist’s brain cells just exploded.
All the more reason to love MK.

I can’t believe she wore this. Aside from pissing off PETA (which she did) She helped support the killing of dozens of innocent chichillas! God, I hate people like that!
MK and Ashley are probably the worst offenders when it comes to fur as fashion. While I don’t personally wear fur, I don’t find it offensive that other people choose to. My theory, though, is people who wear fur fall into 1 of 2 categories: 1) they have failed to or refuse to educate themselves on the fur industry’s practices or 2) their vanity outweigh their sense of empathy towards the creatures sacrificed in the name of ‘fashion’. It’s easy to turn a blind eye to the plight of such animals when you’re convinced fur makes you look better.
I can’t stand when she wears fur . I would definetely yell after her
The bag is hideous, so is the coat and ditto for the shoes. All the more reasons not to love this midget.
ah el me degoute ste meuf
how you can kill more than 30 chinchillas just for make a purse?? you dont have feelings or what?
