It’s funny – Nanette Lepore designs some of the most ladylike, dainty clothes around. They’re all frothy and pretty and sweet. Then she throws in something like her Oval Keeper Small Satchel and you completely forget that she even designs clothes at all. This is a serious bag with, it must be said, a rather dull look. The dark brown straps look out of place against the dark blue and ivory backdrop, and it just doesn’t have the delicate, flouncy character of her clothing. It’s not a bag I’d look twice at – and that’s disappointing to me, since Lepore is one of my favorite designers. Find it for $495 at Piperlime.
