Oh, This Old Thing: Clutches from 1959
| By: Lisa J. | ||
Some things never change. Us ladies love to get all dolled up and when we do, we’re always sure to accessorize! As you know, the key element to successful accessorizing is to polish off your look with the perfect handbag. It’s been that way for a very long time, perhaps even earlier than we might imagine, but for argument’s sake, we’ll say back since around at least 1959. Take a look at the lovely lady pictured here; she has on a crisp fashion forward (for her day, of course) outfit, and an outstanding selection of accessories to enhance it. The key ingredient to her look? Yup, you guessed it, that picture perfect pink clutch! Where, oh where, would she be without it? Well, today she’d have a few more options!
We may not make our clothes and purses by hand much anymore, and I’ll admit, there’s a sort of pride that we lose along with our style nowadays, but we sure don’t lack options, and with options come personal freedom and creativity, so we make up for it in the long run. Today, if we wanted to polish off an outfit with a pink clutch, any given twenty of us, probably wouldn’t even end up with bags in the same shade of pink, let alone the same purse! A few of the hottest ones I found for us modern girls would include:
1. Nancy Gonzalez Shiny Frame Croc Clutch
2. Judith Leiber Fluted Beaded Clutch
3. Rebecca Minkoff Morning After Clutch
4. Carlos Falchi Buffed Python Box Clutch
5. Tory Burch Bombe Reva Clutch
So, which would you choose? Sound off in our poll below!
