Salvatore Ferragamo Resort 2012

With more nautical-inspired designs than you can shake a stick at, Salvatore Ferragamo totally “gets” resort season. This is how it’s done, folks, with shades of rich navy mingling with pops of gold, slinky fabrics galore, and plenty of statement-making accessories. Though Resort 2012 is sure to include its fair share of high seas-chic, we’d be remiss not to pay special attention to these goodies from Ferragamo.
For example, one could go for the ultimate in edgy hippie-chic – and who knew that was even a thing? The Isla Shoulder Bag proves that it is, and how. With a multitude of alternating chain and tassel strands, this standout bag offers a fresh take on bohemian-inspired luxury.
A bit reminiscent of denim, the Willow Woven Clutch has that down home, country appeal going for it in a big way. While I did pause at the idea of coughing up thousands and thousands of bucksfor what is basically a small clutch made of strips of woven nylon, I have to hand it to the Ferragamo team – they found a way to make it look luxurious anyway.
If blues aren’t your thing, opt for the soft, cream-toned Freya Bucket Bag instead. It’s always impressive when a designer can translate a bucket bag into something decidedly non-bucket, as Ferragamo has done here. With its thick, braided handle, medium size, and minimal details, it looks especially elegant.
