Yellow is one of those year round colors that we sometimes forget about. It coincides with the sunny days of spring and summer, and transitions beautifully for autumn. Frankly, all those photos of celebrities turning up at LAX dressed to the nines get a big eye roll from me. Sure, they look great, but…who has the time? I’m a fashion writer and even I roll up to the airport wearing the stretchiest, comfiest outfits I can find. Why waste my good outfits on some seat-mate who’s just going to plant his doughy arm on my arm rest while boring me with tales of his Sudoko fixation? Awww, now isn’t this cute? Though Valentine’s Day personally makes me want to break out into hives, I can’t help but be charmed by this sweet Griffen Valentine’s Tote. It’s simple, yet sophisticated, and totally versatile. Sort of like wearing black.

Navy is the new black and it looks far more fresh than the go-to color for all of your bright and sunny spring clothes. The Jimmy Choo Mandah Hobo Bag has a great mix of leather and suede, giving it loads of texture and depth. The gold and navy combo is gorgeous with everything from suits and other office gear, as well as comfy knit sweaters and jeans on the weekend. The roomy purse would work great as an everyday bag, and my experience with Choo leather is that it can keep up with city life, but be careful with the suede. Be sure to spray a beauty like this with a leather and suede protectant before toting her out in the real world to keep the purse looking great for a very long time.

Help! Security! Darth Lagerfeld is trying to kidnap Keira Knightley! Oh, wait - she’s laughing? Guess getting manhandled by Karl Lagerfeld is just one of the many perks of being a Chanel spokesmodel. Now, about the clothes. Karl looks, well, pretty much the same as he always does, while Keira’s Chanel ensemble, a black top and patterned skirt accented by a fetching quilted black handbag, is pretty darn chic. Not feeling the new bangs, but I’m sure Karl can whip her up an amazing Chanel headband to see her through that painful growing-out period.
