What does a Hollywood it girl wear to a Chanel dinner? Duh, Cha…no, wait, wait. Nancy Gonzalez! How silly of me. Mary-Kate Olsen threw us for a loop, pairing her edgy black minidress, heavy black eyeliner, and dubiously washed hair with a somewhat more mainstream (for her, anyway) red Nancy Gonzalez clutch. I think the clutch is tres chic, but it doesn’t really belong with this outfit. Who knows - maybe she’s just holding it for Ashley while she runs to the powder room.

Once winter’s over, I’m all about phasing out the heavy blacks and chestnut browns and softening my spring and summer wardrobe with lighter neutrals. I’m especially fond of dove gray purses, which have a subtle sophistication while staying fresh. So naturally this gray Chloe Kathleen Shoulder Bag has me sold. Beyond the color, I love the petal-like tiered effect and the dash of gold hardware. It’s not the roomiest of handbags, but it’s got enough space to get me through the day. Forget Uma and Oprah - it’s Madonna and Mahina time! The Material Girl lived up to her name (er, almost literally) by toting this mega-expensive moon-inspired Louis Vuitton Mahina XL handbag. This is one of my favorite Louis Vuittons, partly because I’m a sucker for black designer handbags that offer some semblance of versatility, and also because I love the subtle, black-dipped monogram. And how’s this for functionality - the ruched, buckled sides can be adjusted to allow more room. Smart, and chic.

While out raising awareness for adult whooping cough, Jennifer Lopez took a moment to pose for the paps and show off her fierce camel leopard-print tote.
