Let me get this straight. If I let a camera crew follow me around to nightclubs and my “job,” get catty with my best pals, and cry on cue, I too can afford a divine Goyard tote like Lauren Conrad? Where do I sign up??? I have to say that Lauren’s had better hair days (where’s an Alice band when you need it?), and the flannel shirt has a whiff of “slumming it,” but heck, a great Goyard bag like this can pretty much redeem anything. It’s such a fabulous carry-on too; just the right size and first class all the way. Eat your heart out, Heidi. Or Audrina. Or whichever one of you is sparring with LC these days.

Desperately dreary yet expertly designed, the Chloe Andy Satchel leaves me a little bit torn. On the one hand, I’m intrigued by its nearly perfect construction. You can’t go wrong with all that space, and it exudes a hip downtown-chic vibe that makes it instantly capable for any professional to tote from the AM rush to the PM wind down. The colors, though, are all wrong. For all its intelligence and attention to detail, it loses spark thanks to the bland green shade they call eucalyptus. Even the brown stripe doesn’t do much to shake things up. There’s a ’70s sort of feel to it, which is right in line with Chloe designer Hannah MacGibbon’s visions for the collection. Not this again. I was never crazy about this bag-on-bag thing Marc Jacobs introduced several months ago, and now it’s been reincarnated for Resort 2009 in the form of the black Robert Shopper. Complete with a dual frog kiss-lock closure, the piece features a quilted frame purse perched atop a smooth leather shopper. The contrast in materials is interesting, and some might say the frogs are quirky and cute, but I’m definitely not impressed. Available to pre-order for $2250 at Nordstrom.

Am I the only one kinda missing Lindsay Lohan on “Ugly Betty”? No matter- the paparazzi is always there to give me a Lohan fix. Here Linds and gal pal Samantha Ronson can be seen running errands in LA, accompanied by a tres chic Chanel Portobello purse. You’ve got to love this handbag: it goes with everything, it’s roomy, and it’s Chanel. What more could a girl want?

Shoulder bags are it. Gone is the love for the massive, oversized suitcase-type bag (unless you are, indeed traveling) and in are day clutches and the always-chic shoulder bag.
