Mama mia! I haven’t seen this much lace since the “Like a Virgin” video debuted. I’m actually not sure what to make of this new Prada Pizzo S Satchel. The black lace overlay is gorgeous and evidence of true artistry, and there’s a mysterious, moody Italian Catholic essence that I find appealing, but, realistically, it’s just not going to find up in my closet. The problem – in case you haven’t guessed by now – is the overstuffed ruched lace that trims the purse‘s frame; it’s just way too much, like a magician’s never-ending handkerchief. It’s like bungee jumping: I like to watch, but I don’t want to play (or pay, for that matter). Available at Saks Fifth Avenue for $1,995.
