J.Crew calls this purse “the perfect summer sidekick” which immediately sent my mind whirling into a montage of me fighting crime with the Candy-Stripe Jute Clutch by my side. It was the ultimate weapon to beat bad guys in the face with and was an excellent shield against bullets. I think maybe the fact that I just watched The Avengers slipped into my consciousness. Superhero fantasies aside, it certainly is a cute summer bag that would work with just about anything… making it a much more appropriate sidekick than a young boy in a cape. Somedays, I just can’t get it together with what I’m wearing. After a few passes through my closet, I give up and throw on something basic. My only saving grace is a great handbag, and this Franchi Camila is the perfect one to distract from an otherwise drab outfit. Not only are the colors bold and bright, but the fabric is actually wrapped in an interesting way to make a three-dimensional flower-like shape. My boring LBD and I are eternally grateful. Despite the name, this BCBGMAXAZRIA Mohawk Clutch comes off more elegant than punk rock. Sure, the spiked studs surrounding the frame of this purse certainly fit with the image we all have of mohawks, but the smooth taupe satin and soft rounded edges are more befitting a cocktail party than a mosh pit. Rather than looking too frilly, the Broadway Butterfly Clutch by Gucci looks rich and classy, even with a large butterfly adorning the lower front flap.
