Things are coming up roses over at Valentino! This pleasant, head-turning Rosette Tote is attractive with its bright fuchsia print, black patent leather trim and gold hardware. It’s got the makings of a complete winner, but it’s a bit too substantial. As a result, the print really overwhelms and ends up a bit matronly and fuddy-duddy – surely not the effect Valentino was going for. On a smaller purse, this would be lovely. Available to pre-order for $1950 at Bergdorf Goodman.

FYI – this bag is a traffic-stopper in person and this photo really doesn’t do it justice! There is no “print” on this bag – the flowers are actual “flowers” created by what seems like miles of gorgeous peony pink silk. They are completely three-dimensional, beg to be touched and look very couture. The black patent leather is fabulous and the overall effect is girly, but a little edgy. It’s a big bag which keeps it from being at all matronly or too precious. It is Carrie Bradshaw on a very, very good day!!
